First-Year Medical Student Curriculum Update
Published on Wednesday, May 8, 2024
As part of a planned curriculum restructuring, the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) School of Medicine asked the Department of Dermatology's faculty to take on an elevated role in the Integumentary and Musculoskeletal Unit beginning in January 2024. This initiative, led by Dr. Molly Webb, Dermatology clerkship director, represents our department's highest level of engagement with first-year medical student (M1) coursework. Eleven 50-minute lectures were given to M1s on core dermatology topics. The presentations and presenters are listed below. In addition to the M1 lecture series, the Department of Dermatology continues to host "M2 Medical Student Day," where residents and faculty present live-patient cases alongside patient educators to educate the students on various dermatological conditions. More information on this year's "M2 Medical Student Day" can be found on the Resident, Fellow, and Trainee Updates page.
